Scott Merfen was hired in 2016 as Principal of Holy Trinity School, where he oversees 625 students and more than 50 staff members. He brings over 20 years of experience in education, including 11 years as a building principal in the Shawnee Mission School District. His background also includes teaching at the elementary level, coaching high school wrestling, and serving on several educational foundations, including as board president for the Wildwood Outdoor Education Center.
Scott and his wife, Nicki, have five children who attend school in their home parish, Holy Spirit. He is active in parish life as a Knight of Columbus, has served as Lay Director for Christ Renews His Parish Ministry, and coaches several youth sports for his children.
Scott’s vision for Holy Trinity Catholic School is to provide families with a traditionally rich, positive, and caring educational experience, while helping students grow in faith and live out Christ’s teachings.
